Normally I wouldn't blog about a local cycling-oriented event, but the West Toronto Railpath is Toronto's best new graffiti showcase. From the Toronto Bike Union, via Vic Gedris:

The West Toronto Railpath is a beautiful and award-winning public space to walk, ride a bike, and enjoy being active and outdoors. On Saturday June 16, CultureLink Settlement Services, Cycle Toronto, the Davenport West Bike Project, Bike Pirates and our friends and partners host a celebration of the Railpath and what it means to us. We celebrate clean and sustainable transportation options, and we celebrate how the Railpath creates vital connections between diverse communities living and working in this historic neighborhood. Activities include:
- Free bike clinic hosted by Bike Pirates and friends
- Kids safety training with Evergreen Bike Works and CultureLink
- Art studio tour
- Ride led by Cycle Toronto’s west end ward groups
- Nature and history walk led by CultureLink’s Intergenerational Eco-Action Committee
- Musical performances and exhibitors
Where: All along the Railpath, with a focus where the Rail meets Wallace Avenue (north of Bloor)

SUNDAY, JUNE 17
Between the Lines is a documentary on recent street art in Toronto that features the likes of SPUD, Joel Richardson, Deadboy, etc. The filmmakers are throwing a fundraiser with live street art and music at 99 Sudbury from noon to 5pm this Sunday, June 17, 2012.
The event is part of a fundraising campaign for the film, an effort which also includes membership in the Hot Docs festival's Doc Ignite campaign, an online crowd-sourcing platform for aspiring documentary filmmakers.

To warm things up during our Doc Ignite campaign, we have some live street art happening on the back of the building and some bands that have contributed music to our project will perform at 99 Sudbury's urban garden.
This weekend, June 17/2012, artist Joel Richardson (http://www.joelrichardson.com), the artist whose mural was erased last summer by the City even though they commissioned it, will paint one of his latest pieces from his SUITMAN project (http://www.suitman.ca)... And 2/3 of The Roncy Boys will perform at 3pm (http://www.theroncyboys.com/the-roncy-blog.html) and Jimi Maze of Canary Mine will warm up the deck in the early afternoon.
